The Herbert Protocol

The Herbert Protocol was developed by the Metropolitan police to aid them in the search for missing vulnerable adults, such as those with Dementia or Alzheimer’s.
It comprises of a form you fill in about the person. The first part details information about the person which can be completed in advance and kept in the person’s file, the second is to be filled in, in the unfortunate event that the person goes missing and contains details of the incident.
If you think this is something one of our service users could benefit from, please don’t hesitate to contact us to let us know! It could be the difference between a negative outcome and a positive one!
More information and an example of the form itself can be found at Herbert Protocol for people with dementia at risk of going missing | Metropolitan Police
