Medication Administration & Monitoring
At Sphere Specialist Healthcare, safe and effective medication support is an essential part of high-quality care. We understand the importance of medicines being administered correctly, at the right time and in accordance with the individual’s prescription and agreed care plan.
Medication support is tailored to each person’s needs, while promoting choice, independence and involvement wherever this can be achieved safely. This may range from prompting or assisting someone with their medication through to full administration and monitoring.
Our support workers receive comprehensive medication training and undertake competency assessments to ensure they have the knowledge, skills and confidence required to provide medication support safely. Where appropriate, clinical competency is assessed by a Sphere Specialist Healthcare Registered Nurse.
Clear documentation, ongoing monitoring and regular review help us identify concerns, changes or potential medication-related issue.
