Meal Preparation/Feeding
At Sphere Specialist Healthcare, we recognise that good nutrition and hydration are essential to maintaining health, wellbeing, independence and quality of life. Our support is tailored to each individual’s needs, preferences, routines and abilities, ensuring mealtimes remain enjoyable as well as nutritionally appropriate.
Our support workers can prepare meals and drinks, assist or supervise clients to prepare their own food, encourage independence in the kitchen and provide support with eating and drinking where required. Visits can be arranged around mealtimes once or several times throughout the day, depending on individual need.
Where a person has specific nutritional requirements, we work in partnership with relevant healthcare professionals and follow agreed guidance. This may include specialist diets, prescribed nutritional supplements, food allergies or intolerances, diabetes management, modified diets and texture-modified food or thickened fluids where recommended.
Our team understands that nutrition and hydration support continues beyond the care visit. Where appropriate, we can ensure drinks, snacks and other suitable refreshments are safely available between visits, helping individuals maintain adequate food and fluid intake throughout the day.

We also recognise that changes in appetite, eating, drinking or weight can sometimes indicate a change in a person’s health. Our trained staff can observe, record and report concerns, enabling appropriate action or referral to other healthcare professionals when required.
Above all, we aim to promote choice, dignity and independence. Whether preparing a favourite meal, supporting someone to cook for themselves or providing more comprehensive assistance with eating and drinking, support is planned around the individual.
Good food. Good hydration. Personal choice. Supporting better health and wellbeing at home.
